Friends of Morocco is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization affiliated with the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA). While Friends of Morocco is recognized by the United States Peace Corps and the Embassy of Morocco in the United States, we are not affiliated with either. IRS Determination
Friends of Morocco is governed by a Board of Directors who appoint an Executive Committee of President, Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter editor, and other officers as necessary. The present Management Team consists of both appointed and volunteer staff. We are registered in the District of Columbia and governened by our Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws
Over 4,500 Americans have served in Morocco with the Peace Corps starting with 53 volunteers arriving in 1963 and continuing today with the 150 volunteers currently serving. Other members of Friends of Morocco include Americans who have worked in Morocco with the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Information Service and other government agencies; Americans who have traveled in Morocco and those who have studied in Morocco with organizations such as Rotary Club International and Fulbright grants. Moroccans in America as members include immigrants and spouses and Moroccans temporarily working or studying in the U.S. Friends of Morocco has mailing list of 2,250 with 300 to 400 active members at any one time.
